The University Counseling Center (UCC) at the University of Utah enthusiastically welcomes applications for a clinical mental health counselor who will provide embedded services for the College of Engineering. This is a fully benefited, full-time 1.0 FTE 12-month position, with a 50/50 split for time spent in the UCC and the College of Engineering embedded site. Responsibilities include the provision of individual, group, and couple counseling services, intake assessments, crisis intervention services, and provision of outreach programs and psycho-educational workshops . Possession of strong clinical skills, the ability to manage a full client caseload, and the ability to work independently are required, as well as a demonstrated commitment to working effectively from a multicultural orientation and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the unique challenges faced by undergraduate and graduate students seeking Engineering degrees, with experience providing clinical services to engineering students preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have obtained full licensure in the State of Utah in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Marriage & Family Therapy by start date. Other qualifications include two years of clinical experience with adults and late adolescents; demonstrated strong clinical skills; and strong verbal and written communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in an embedded counseling center position, a demonstrated knowledge of the unique challenges faced by Engineering undergraduate and graduate students, previous experience in college student mental health and crisis intervention, and a strong commitment to and expertise in diversity issues. Fluency in language other than English (e.g., Arabic languages; Mandarin) is also preferred.

 
COMPENSATION
