USC is seeking a full-time licensed therapist for the Division of Student Mental Health in the Keck School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry to provide mental health services exclusively to the university’s student athletes.


The position is the result of a joint collaboration between Counseling and Mental Services and the USC Athletic Department. The clinician will work as a member of the USC Sport Psychology team under the supervision of the Associate Director of Sport Psychology at Counseling and Mental Health who is in charge of Clinical & Sport Psychology Services for Athletics. The responsibilities include providing individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention and on-call services, performance enhancement with individuals and teams for USC student athletes at an NCAA Division I University with 21 teams and approximately 630 student athletes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be licensed clinicians in good standing and have a Doctorate or Master’s degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program, or Master’s degree in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy.

Strong clinical, crisis, and organizational skills needed. Flexibility, follow through, and accountability are a necessity. Ability to work in a fast paced environment is essential to this position. Experience in working with college students from diverse backgrounds is also essential. Expertise in issues related to African American/Black student athletes required.

 
COMPENSATION

This is a faculty position in the Division of Student Mental Health in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. The position is full-time. Salary is competitive and contingent on qualifications and experience.
