Frostburg State University’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is searching for a full-time Mental Health Provider and invites applications from qualified candidates. The ideal candidate will be a licensed psychologist, social worker, or professional counselor with strong multicultural experience working with a diverse population of college students. Candidate should value working in a highly collaborative, diverse interdisciplinary team and in a fast-paced setting.

CAPS is the IACS accredited counseling center for the Frostburg State University student community. In October 2019, FSU initiated a partnership with the local hospital, UPMC Western Maryland. This partnership has allowed for an expansion of services available to the student population. Successful candidate will be formally employed by the hospital system, while being embedded within the University environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

·         Providing individual and group counseling

·         Providing crisis intervention both during the business day and on a rotation for on-call after hours duty

·         Facilitating presentations and programming on mental health topics to the student population

·         Providing consultation to faculty and staff

·         Forming liaison relationships with campus partners and/or student organizations

Education: Masters degree in Social Work or Counseling required.

License: LMSW - Licensed Master Social Worker or LGPC - Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in the State of Maryland required.

Work Experience: Two years experience in a mental health setting.

Skills: Strong multicultural experience working with a diverse population.
