The Master's Level Mental Health Counselor role involves the delivery of clinical services to IU students through "CAPS", the Student Health Center's Counseling & Psychological Services. Clinical services include individual, couples, group and crisis counseling.
Serves on the triage team when asked by the Director. Assists with reducing stigma associated with mental health services that create barriers for underserved and marginalized communities.
Collaborates with members of CAPS' multi-disciplinary staff. Serves on after-hours crisis response teams on an as needed basis, in the event of larger scale campus crises. Delivers outreach programs, as needed.
The Master's Level Mental Health Counselor's work in all of these domains is expected to be culturally competent/informed and consistent with the learning objectives of the Division of Student Affairs. This role may involve the supervision of a master's level mental health student in one of the mental health disciplines.
