Counseling Services at the CUNY School of Professional Studies is seeking a Student Psychological Counselor. The Student Psychological Counselor will report directly to the Director of Student Services and will support the mental health needs of a large and diverse population of adult in-person and online students through the provision of clinical services. The Student Psychological Counselor will also help students connect with needed on- and off-campus resources and will assist in developing and monitoring mental health-related programming, outreach activities and communications.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Student Psychological Counselor’s duties include, but are not limited to:

QUALIFICATIONS

A Doctoral degree in Psychology to include Ph.D. and Psy.D. programs 

OR

A Master's degree in an appropriate discipline for personal or psychological counseling and a New York State license as a mental health practitioner (social work, psychology, or mental health counseling).

In addition, six years' professional experience is required for all candidates.

The preferred candidate will have:

-Excellent mental health risk assessment and crisis intervention skills

-Experience as a mental health provider in campus-based college/university setting

-Experience working with adult students

-Experience as a mental health provider in agencies serving diverse populations with significant socio-economic need

-Experience with culturally competent models of clinical care

-Knowledge about social services and mental health resources in the New York City area

-Experience with electronic medical records systems for mental health documentation (Titanium, PNC, etc.)

-Experience with, or openness to, telehealth / telementalhealth procedures and platforms 

-Understanding of established and emerging laws and guidelines regarding interstate / interjurisdictional licensed mental health practice

Salary commensurate with education and experience up to $85,162.
