The Staff Psychologist position is a licensed psychologist position responsible for providing mental health services to currently enrolled students. This position works collaboratively with other departments in the Divisions of Student Affairs and Academic Affairs to enhance student retention and success.
Provides individual, group, initial evaluation, and crisis intervention to a diverse student body in the University’s Counseling Center; utilizing brief and short-term models of psychotherapy. Consults with faculty, staff, and student groups on a variety of mental health related issues. Provides supervision to graduate student trainees in mental health. Conducts outreach presentations on mental health and diversity topics to undergraduate classes and a variety of minority groups including gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and transgender persons, the differently abled, ethnically diverse and cultural populations. Helps to coordinate one of the Center’s critical functions such as Diversity, Assessment, Substance Abuse, Marketing, or Virtual/Online Services. |
