Job Description:

The College of Wooster is seeking a Staff Counselor/Clinical Therapist to support and enhance the learning and development of every student through promoting wellness, resiliency and fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and equitable residential community. Students seek counseling services related to stress, developmental concerns, career, academics, identity, interpersonal and other mental health issues. The Staff Counselor responsibilities include: multi culturally informed, short-term individual therapy with a diverse population, implementation of standardized assessments (CCAPS and CSSRS), crisis intervention (on-call rotation), effective collaboration with Wellness Center staff, clinical consultation, and outreach programs.


Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Counselor Education, Social Work, Counseling or related field; independent licensure in professional discipline in the State of Ohio upon hire; significant clinical experience in counseling and crisis management; supervised work experience in college counseling center, mental health agency, or related professional setting; strong interpersonal skills; dedication to professional development & continuing education.

Desired Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience working effectively with communities of color, alcohol and drug misuse/abuse; at least one year of full-time or equivalent experience in a college counseling center.
