We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced counselor for our Counseling & Psychiatry Department who is interested in working part time in a college health environment.  The selected counselor will provide care through a care-team model with other counselors, psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered dietitians and other allied health professionals.

The counselor will provide a broad range of counseling and psychological services to students including initial evaluation/assessment, treatment planning, case formulation, referral to appropriate services and treatment within the modalities of individual, couples and group psychotherapy. When necessary the ideal candidate will provide crisis intervention and management when called for as well as triage unscheduled walk-in students all within the scope of care. This incumbent will implement treatment planning goals and evaluate treatment needs based on client assessment. It will be imperative to maintain a state license as a mental health professional, as well as credentialing & privileging requirements. They will conduct clinical work and documentation in compliance with departmental, division and University of South Carolina policies and procedures and participate as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based mental health care.

We are looking for a counselor who values high quality care and client satisfaction, has a desire to work in a busy, highly diverse and collaborative environment with clients and other clinicians and understands the relationship of student’s mental and physical well-being to their academic success. This position will typically work 30 hours per week. 

Please note, that this is an hourly position. As such, no benefits or paid time off will be provided.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related mental health field and licensed (or eligible) as a mental health professional in the state of South Carolina and 2 years of related experience, or equivalent.


 
COMPENSATION

30.00/hour
