CAPS is offering a full-time faculty position for a Clinical/Counseling Staff Psychologist. Requirements include a Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA accredited institution, the completion of an APA (or equivalent) internship, licensure in the state of Georgia by start date, and at least two years’ experience in the evaluation and treatment of individuals whose age and psychological development are similar to those of our population [i.e., late adolescence (17 years of age) through middle age (50 years of age)].

 

CAPS strives to be a diverse and inclusive center that supports our whole student body. Preference will be given to strong Generalists who have the ability to manage an active caseload, provide supervision to trainees (3+ years licensure in GA), are committed to working with diverse populations and to multicultural competence, hold an interest in collaborating within the Health Center and larger campus community, and have the ability to ability to provide clinical services in a language other than English (Standard Chinese (Mandarin) or Spanish preferred).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D., Psy.D., or EdD. from an APA-approved (or equivalent) Psychology program and an APA Approved (or equivalent) internship.
Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Georgia.
A temporary or permanent license from the State of Georgia must be obtained by the date of first employment.
Background of at least two years in the evaluation and treatment of individuals whose age and psychological development are similar to traditional and non-traditional college students.
Skill and/or interest in preventive psychological education and outreach programs.
AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Background working with students from diverse, traditionally under served, and/or marginalized backgrounds (e.g., students of color, LGBTQIA+, international students, first generation students, low SES, rural).
Background and familiarity with accreditation (JC, APAIACS) requirements and standards.
Competence and background in a multidisciplinary setting.
Knowledge or interest in mental health outreach programming.
Ability and interest in working in a setting involved in the training and supervision of counseling and psychotherapy to students in training or postgraduate professionals.
Background in providing supervision of counseling and psychotherapy.
Competence and background in using an electronic health record.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
Two years of clinical background in a college or university counseling or mental health setting.
Advanced skill with disorders typically seen at a university counselling service.

 
COMPENSATION

$64,350 per year + benefits
