POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Counseling Center at Indiana University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a permanent, tenure-track faculty position beginning August, 2021. The Psychologist will provide a variety of counseling and/or psychological services to IUP undergraduate and graduate students, with a specific focus on work with underrepresented groups (Multicultural, Black, Indigenous, students of color).  IUP encourages applications from individuals underrepresented in their field, and those that can potentially add new and valuable perspectives to the academic environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Doctorate in counseling/clinical psychology by August 2021. 
  • Currently licensed or license-eligible (within two years of appointment) in Pennsylvania. 
  • University/College counseling center internship.
  • Work experience with people from diverse backgrounds, group work, crisis intervention, and outreach/consultation will strengthen the application.
  • Candidates invited to campus must communicate effectively and perform well during the interview(s); candidates will be asked to respond to clinical vignettes as part of the interview process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Academic faculty must have, and maintain the physical and mental abilities, communicative skills, and stamina necessary to carry out the essential functions of their positions in teaching, research, scholarship, and service.  Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve  standing to a significant degree, walking for brief periods of time and may include driving requirements.
 
COMPENSATION
$59,000.00 - $65,000.00 Annually
