The University of Redlands' Counseling Center is seeking an Associate Director/Training Director. A licensed psychologist to provide a range of clinical services, outreach services, and clinical supervision, in support of the Academic and Student Affairs mission of the University of Redlands, as well as lead the training program for practicum graduate students. In addition to the usual responsibilities at a university counseling center, we are seeking candidates who take seriously the impact of marginalized identities, experiences of inequality, and experiences of oppression and privilege on mental health. Specifically, we are looking for a licensed psychologist who has clinical experience with students of color, 1st generation, low income, LBTQ+ and international college students.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Supervision: Direct, run, and oversee the training program for pre-doctoral psychology and pre-masters in counseling practicum students. Lead group supervision and provide individual supervision to practicum students; provide training, educational seminars, co-facilitate outreach activities, workshops, and groups with practicum students.

Clinical Services: Provide short-term individual therapy, group therapy, single session therapy, crisis intervention, workshops, and case management for University of Redlands students; provide consultation to the university community regarding issues that impact the educational, developmental, and psychological well-being of students; provide referrals to and coordinate care with the Student Health Center and community providers.

Outreach Services: Develop and participate in community education and outreach programming to a diverse student population, e.g., Suicide Prevention (QPR) training and training of Residence Life staff.

Administrative Duties: Oversee the collection of data and analysis to report to various stakeholders. Assist the Director in management as well as supervision of the professional and administrative staff.Other Areas of Responsibility:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires licensure in the state of California as a Clinical or Counseling Psychologist and a minimum of four years post-license clinical, supervisory, and administrative experience. All candidates must be able to demonstrate ability to work with students of color, 1st generation, low income, LGBTQ+, and international college students. A strong interest in the developmental and mental health issues of college students is required as well as the ability to apply therapeutic skills to students with psychological learning and physical disabilities. Good interpersonal skills are essential as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of and ability to adhere to legal standards set forth by the state of California and federal laws, along with the ethical standards established by APA and the University of Redlands. This position requires strong motivation, drive, and proven ability to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty, and staff. Successful candidate will have experience using the Internet and be competent in a variety of Windows-based computer programs including MS Word and Excel.
