About Charlottesville Empowerment
Charlottesville Empowerment is a growing private practice in Charlottesville. Charlottesville Empowerment believes in intentional, flexible, and collaborative services. We integrate evidence-based treatment modalities, are social justice oriented, and operate from a multicultural perspective which values diversity as a strength, affirms individual expression, and considers issues of power, privilege, and oppression throughout all services. We provide individual therapy, group psychotherapy, couples/relationship counseling to partners/partnerships of all identities and structures, mindfulness sessions, and workshops.
Currently our staff consists of a Director, Practice Manager, three Staff Psychotherapists, two Residents, a Practicum Therapist, a therapy dog, and an office greeter puppy. Charlottesville Empowerment: Counseling and Wellness Services seeks a part time (2-12 clients) or full time (12-35 clients) Therapists/Counselors/Psychologists to begin as soon as possible (flexible start date).
- Required: A strong background in working with diverse populations, multicultural issues, and a social justice lens
-Preferred: Experience with trans affirming care and college student populations preferred.
-Preferred: We are searching for therapists who integrate modalities, ideally including a some combination of psychodynamic, AEDP, interpersonal, relational, IFS, EFT, EMDR, and trauma-informed.
-At least one of our new hires must be proficient in providing couples therapy.
Key Responsibilities: Phone screenings, intakes, individual therapy.
Additional Opportunities: Couples therapy, group therapy, family therapy, workshops, peer consult, supervision of resident/practicum/intern, training seminars
Education and License Requirements
Must have a doctorate or masters in a clinical, counseling, social work, or closely related psychology field from an accredited institution. Must be licensed in the state of Virginia by start date
Hours and Structure
Hours are relatively flexible based on staff’s preference. We are open to a contract that between a minimum of 5 hours per week, maximum of 40. Staff may choose to start part time and have the opportunity to grow into full time when ready. All psychotherapists will be classified as independent contractors and pay is based on percentage of collected revenue (competitive percentages offered).
