Position Summary Information

Essential Duties Summary
1. Provide individual and group psychotherapy, consultation and referral.
2. Focus on working with students in crisis and those with trauma hsitories, including racialized and other trauma related to identity.
3. Liaison with Students of Color and other diverse communities on campus.
4. Provide workshops, lectures, etc for outreach and education activities on campus
5. Supervise psychology externs and social work interns weekly (after first year employment).
6. On-call coverage on rotation with other senior staff
7. Oversee the managment of clients of concern at Furman


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
1. Experience in working with survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence,racialized and other trauma.
2. Expertise in trauma treatment and crisis intervention - may include DBT , EMDR , trauma-focused treatment.
3. Strong clinical skills in assessment and treatment, particularly with high risk clients
4. Experience working with communities of color and other diverse populations.
5. Ability to effectively address issues of race, gender and ethnicity within the campus community to promote social justice.
5. Public speaking/teaching ability


Required Qualification Summary

PhD in counseling or clinical psychology or LCSW in social work.
Minimum of 4 years experience in group and individual psychotherapy
Significant experience working with survivors of trauma.
Significant experience working with high risk clients.



Preferred Qualification Summary
Experience as a supervisor.
Experience developing outreach and services for students of color and other diverse communities
