POSITION DESCRIPTION
Oregon State University Athletics, in collaboration with Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS), is pleased to announce a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Sport Psychology position for the 2023/24 academic year. The position is a full-time, 12-month appointment with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2023.
This fellowship is intended for an individual who is pursuing licensure as a psychologist and is seeking specialized experience in the provision of mental health, performance enhancement, outreach, and consultation services to student-athletes participating at the NCAA Division I level. Other responsibilities are assigned in accordance with prior training and experience, clinical interests, and availability. The opportunity to accrue mentored experience hours toward the Certified Mental Performance Consultant® credential as administered by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology is available.
Qualified candidates will display demonstrable commitments to (a) professional ethics and boundaries and (b) multicultural competency and cultural humility. Other essential qualities include self-motivation, robust work ethic, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility to adapt to change in a dynamic collegiate athletic environment, and a strong clinical skillset. Experience working with student-athletes and/or college students is preferred though not required.
