Position Summary:
Job Summary


The Counselor-Specialized in Servicing BIPOC Students provides clinical, emergency, consultation and outreach services to the Susquehanna University community, specifically, students of color and other marginalized groups, virtually. This position is defined as a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations.


Specific Responsibilities



Required Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities


Knowledge of English language including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar. Skilled at written and verbal communication. Ability to use an EMR system (Titanium) and HIPPA compliant Zoom features. Knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Powerpoint.


Education


A master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work required. Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology preferred. Appropriate licensure or license-eligible in Pennsylvania required. For social workers: LSW required, for counselors: LPC required, for psychologist: license eligibility required. Postdoctoral supervision for psychologists can be provided.


Experience


Three years of demonstrated experience and/or expertise in working with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color on issues of race-based stress, trauma, and racism and in providing therapy/counseling with Ethnic Minority people required.


Additional Requirements


This role is identified as one that includes significant interaction with students and/or campus activities, and/or has oversight for disciplinary procedures. Therefore, you are considered a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and required to report any Clery Act crime disclosed to you and remain compliant with annual CSA training requirements.


Physical Demand


Position requires the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Position requires the ability to talk and to hear instruction. Position requires occasional manual dexterity and the ability to use fingers, hands, and arms to feel, handle, and reach.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education
For social workers: LCSW preferred, for counselors: LPC with NBCC certification preferred, for psychologist: already licensed preferred.

Experience
Experience working within a college or university counseling center and experience working in a virtual environment including tele mental health preferred.
