Reporting to the Director of the Furman Counseling Center, the Staff Psychotherapist provides direct clinical services to eligible students, including clinical assessment, short-term individual and group psychotherapy, and crisis intervention. The Staff Psychotherapist supports the engagement and well-being of our students and is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.Job Description:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide clinical services to eligible students, including short-term individual and group psychotherapy, emergency/crisis response, consultation, and referral. Work with students presenting with trauma histories including racialized, gender, sexual and other trauma related to oppression.
Rotate after-hours on-call responsibilities with Furman staff. Depending upon clinical need and upon the provider’s individual qualifications and interests, participate in at least one specialized clinical activity, including but not limited to:
• Facilitate therapy groups and/or psychoeducational workshops.
• Participate in gatekeeper training and other outreach activities. Participate in initiatives addressing specific student populations including, but not limited to, international students, students of color, first gen students, and/or LGBTQ students.
• Provide supervision to psychology or social work trainees. Participate in quality assurance and evaluation activities as needed; compile data in areas of specialty, when requested by the Director.
• Maintain patient records in accordance with regulations and policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
Preferred
• Hospital experience or significant experience with the full range of psychiatric disorders including high risk clients.
• Experience treating a college population.
• Experience with after hours on-call crisis intervention.
• Integrative theoretical orientation including psychodynamic and current trauma understandings
Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 (commensurate with experience)
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
