We are currently searching for a Director of Clinical Training to join the Clinical Psychology PsyD program at our Washington, DC Campus. The program is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) and is known for its active and engaged student body, nationally and internationally recognized faculty, and dedication to social justice and diversity. Job Description:
The Director of Clinical Training is a faculty member of the Clinical PsyD program who oversees students' practicum and internship experiences. The Director of Clinical Training (DCT) reports to the Department Chair. Along with the Associate Directors of Clinical Training, the DCT advises students and guides their progress in all aspects of their clinical training and development. The training faculty work collaboratively with training site supervisors and academic program faculty on training related manners.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule that reflects three days on campus and two days remote.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supporting students in all aspects of their clinical training experiences, including site selection and reviewing of application materials for both practicum and doctoral internship and monitoring of training progress and outcomes.

Monitoring progress of practicum performance, including evaluations, hour logs, and related paperwork. Tracking and managing data related to practicum and internship placements.

Assisting students who are encountering issues related to their practicum and internship experience. Advising on and engaging in remediation planning for students.

Developing and maintaining a network of practicum sites, including visiting sites and building relationships with site supervisors. Engaging in site visits with existing sites for site maintenance, sites with student issues, and new sites for development.

Communicating with department faculty around issues of professional development, training concerns, rules and regulations, and the search and placement process.

Participating in department-level strategic planning related to training. Consulting on the development and maintenance of coursework pertinent clinical training.

Working collaboration with the Campus Director of Training and other DCTs on training activities and events at the Washington, DC Campus

Supervises and delegates tasks and assignments for the ADCTs to meet the training needs at the Washington, DC Campus.

Teaching 6 credits, as assigned by the Department Chair.

Participating in re-accreditation efforts.

Interacting and communicating successfully with a diverse population.

Acting in a way that embodies the mission, vision, and values of The Chicago School and reflects the program's student-centered approach.

Maintaining ethical behavior and the ability to demonstrate ethical decision making related to training concerns.

Adhering to all confidentiality requirements.

Attending Faculty Council meetings and serving on a Faculty Council Committee. Attending Clinical PsyD Department meetings. Leading Clinical PsyD Training meetings.

Engaging with the Admissions process through presentations to and interviews of candidates.

Assisting the Department Chair with the collection and storage of licensure data.

Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

Qualifications:

Licensed Doctoral level Clinical or Counseling Psychologist. Doctorate must be from an APA accredited doctoral program.

Valid driver's license and access to a car to visit training sites as needed.

Prior experience with supervision and training of graduate level students.

Prior teaching at the graduate level.

Actively seek an understanding of the implications related to changing regulations/requirements and their impact on current and future decisions related to the Office of Placement & Training and the field of clinical training.

Maintain knowledge of local and national training and licensing requirements.
Think critically to identify the cost and benefit of alternative approaches and/or solutions to problems.

Communicate ideas and information effectively in both verbal and written format.

Demonstrate an ability to adapt to changing circumstances, needs, and demands.

Understand and navigate multiple levels of program hierarchies.

Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn data tracking software.

This opportunity is budgeted at $72,000-95,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
