Counseling and Psychiatric Service (CAPS) is to collaborate directly with students and the campus community. A member of the Division of Student Affairs, CAPS is dedicated to helping students develop greater self-understanding, identify and solve problems, and improve academic performance through the alleviation of psychological, emotional, and cognitive barriers. In order to best meet the demand for services, which at times may exceed capacity, CAPS operates according to a limited treatment model in which the student and the clinician collaboratively address the student's primary concerns in a time-efficient manner. Some of these services are individual in nature and some are in a group format.
The
Staff Clinician embedded at the Georgetown University Medical School is responsible for the delivery of psychotherapy, counseling, outreach, and consultation services to Georgetown University medical students, and consultations to deans, faculty, staff, and parents.
Work InteractionsReporting to the Associate Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the
Staff Clinician embedded at the Medical School provides direct service to medical students, and consultations to deans and faculty regarding student issues.
Qualifications- Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology or a related field - or an MSW
- Licensure in the District of Columbia as a social worker or psychologist - note: if not yet licensed, then Licensure must be achieved within 2 years of start date.
Preferred qualifications- College mental health experience
- Interest and/or experience working with the medical student population
- Demonstrated experience working with the issues noted above
Work Mode: Hybrid 3 Days. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.
