Summary of Position

The Wellness Center at Keene State College is seeking applications for a Training Director/Mental Health Counselor to provide: development, maintenance, supervision, and promotion of the Wellness Center practicum training program/experiences for graduate-level trainees. This is a full-time, benefited position that requires compliance with all ethical and legal standards related to mental health and graduate preparation programs.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Clinical Operations, the Training Director/Mental Health Counselor also provides mental health services to enrolled students. Primary responsibilities are providing individual, couples, and group psychotherapy, performing initial evaluations, and providing crisis interventions. Additional responsibilities include providing consultation services to staff, faculty, and administrators; providing clinical supervison to trainees, participating in outreach, and other duties as assigned.

The Wellness Center is a very dynamic, creative, fun, and rewarding work environment. While the centerpiece of our work is providing direct care to students, there is plenty of opportunity to engage with colleagues within the Wellness Center and the broader campus community. We work to promote a wellness orientation throughout the institution and to provide coordinated services to our students. Counseling staff provide training and supervision to graduate practicum students and actively collaborate with our medical providers including a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Our strengths include a supportive collegial environment that helps team members identify and build on their specific clinical strengths, a growing group program, the delivery of a range of mental and physical well-being programs in collaboration with campus partners, and a strong dedication to student well-being.
