The Loyola University Maryland Counseling Center invites applications and nominations for the position of part-time counselor, 9 months. Guided by Loyola's social justice values, the Counseling Center is comprised of a multidisciplinary staff that strives to provide culturally competent clinical services, outreach programming, and training opportunities. We are a counseling center that encourages the utilization of our services by all students. To this end, we seek to provide a safe, welcoming and affirming environment for all.
We are seeking colleagues whose professional philosophies align with our dedication to the whole person and the University's Jesuit values of justice, community, and a constant challenge to improve. We seek individuals who are collaborative in nature, have strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail, practice good self-care, maintain healthy boundaries, and possess the ability to manage a challenging workload while promoting a positive atmosphere and healthy relationships.
Duties include: Intake and clinical assessment; brief multi-culturally responsive individual counseling; group counseling and workshops; referral; timely completion of documentation.
Qualifications: Candidates must be licensed as a social worker, professional counselor, or psychologist in the state of Maryland at the time of hiring. Previous experience in a counseling center setting is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates must exhibit an understanding and commitment to a culturally-focused developmental model and have a demonstrated ability to initiate and implement interventions that promote a healthy, inclusive campus environment and meet the mental health needs of the University community.
