Job Description:

Reporting to the Project Coordinator and Executive Director of Orange County FoodTEC the Success Coach provides academic and career advising and counseling to FoodTEC Workforce Development Trainees. As the Orange County FoodTEC Success Coach, this position will be responsible for monitoring and recording student academic progress, supporting continuous trainee enrollment, and ensuring that trainees succeed through the program and the on-the-job training. Documentation of services provided to trainees is a key to success as this position will focus on addressing the needs of trainees through advising, counseling, or tutoring sessions, in addition to preparing and conducting workshops that will further develop and enhance their skills. The Orange County FoodTEC Success Coach will help trainees navigate throughout the program successfully, including attending the training sessions consistently and on time, completing the training sessions, and attending the on-the-job training. Additionally, this position will be expected to travel between both campuses and other locations as necessary for program events such as; high school recruitment visits, open houses, etc.  

This position offers up to 20 hours per week and will require a flexible work schedule that could include evening and weekend hours.

Travel will be required as needed for recruitment events between SUNY Orange campuses and the program job sites.


Requirements:

Education Required: Associate's Degree or higher.     

Experience Required: Two (2) years of experience advising, coaching  or case management experience with adult learners, at-risk youth, low-income, first-generation, and/or disabled trainees. Experience interacting with individuals with various backgrounds. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.

Salary: $28 per hour, commensurate with grant funding.
