A prestigious art college in the SF Bay Area is actively interviewing for a Full Time Staff Counselor (37.5 hours a week, salaried & benefitted) to join the Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) Team. This is a staff position, and open to licensed, Masters or Doctoral level clinicians. We will also consider clinicians pursuing licensure who will be licensed within 1-2 months with a clear timeline to licensure if they are exceptional fit, however licensed individuals will be prioritized.

This person will provide up to 20 hours of individual therapy per week, as well as 1-2 hours of urgent need / crisis intervention counseling and conduct wellness outreach to an amazing population of art students. It is a wonderful opportunity to work with an innovative, creative, and socially active patient population.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Doctorate or Masters clinical/counseling degree and licensure (e.g., Ph.D/Psy.D, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC) required

  • Psychologists (e.g., Psy.D., Ph.D.) governed by California Board of Psychology are required to possess valid license. Psychologist applicants possessing a valid license in another state must obtain California licensure within 180 days after submitting an application to become licensed in California or from date of commencement of residency in California, whichever comes first. OR -Applicants who are not licensed, but who are license eligible as psychologists in California, must have passed the EPPP by time of application. Must possess California Board of Psychology valid license within 30 days of job offer.
  • Masters therapist applicants are governed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and are required to possess a valid California license. Masters therapist applicants possessing a valid license in another state must obtain California licensure within 30 days of job offer.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education/Experience:            

• Experience working with Artist's and Designers and familiarity with creative practices. 

• Experience working in a university counseling service with strong student service orientation.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :

• Ability to provide supervision to predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees.

• Knowledge of ethical, legal and university standards and regulations.

 
COMPENSATION
  • The range for this position is $75,000 - $80,000 annually

  • CCA offers a comprehensive benefits package, including the choice of five medical plans, generous holiday, sick & vacation time, a retirement match and tuition remission. CCA covers an average of 91% of the medical plan cost for the employee only and an average of 82% for employees with dependents.
