The
PSU Center for Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) is a nationally accredited healthcare facility that offers medical, counseling, dental, and health promotion/education services to the students of Portland State University. The center consists of over 100 clinical and administrative staff, and there are currently 20,000 students eligible to use
SHAC services.
SHAC strives for inclusive and equitable hiring practices. We are committed to increasing the diversity of our healthcare team. All
SHAC staff participating on search committees have completed PSU’s Inclusive Hiring Workshop.
The vision of
SHAC Counseling Services reflects that of the University at large in its commitment to foster access to a quality education. We believe that an integral part of this aspiration is in maintaining students’ emotional health, thus empowering the student to achieve academic success, experience healthy and satisfying relationships and collectively take part in a supportive campus community.
