POSITION DESCRIPTION
Consults with faculty and staff regarding difficult students with mental health issues. Oversees all planning, training and clinical aspects of the doctoral internship in professional psychology and practicum training. Attends seminars, workshops, and other activities to stay current on advances in field.
Oversees the maintenance of records and preparation of reports regarding the activities and operations of the intern program. Analyzes data for preparation of reports to administration, American Psychological Association, and Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers. Participates in outreach including preventive presentations, workshops, programs, and public relations.
Supervises practicum training, as well as departmental positions.
Performs duties of Director, in absence of Director including travel and purchase authorizations, budget revisions, and time and attendance approvals.
Plans and administers the APA internship Training Program; oversees seminar, supervision, case conference, supervision of supervision and all internship training activities; recruits and evaluates intern candidates; develops work programs and assigns cases.
Provides consultation and outreach programs to students, faculty, and staff at the university and the local community.
Provides didactic and supervisory roles to pre-doctoral interns, as part of the APA approved internship, and to practicum students from psychologically based programs on campus.
Provides individual, family, couples, group therapy to University students. Administers and interprets psychological tests.
Monitors and evaluates intern performance; provides guidance and direction to interns.
Maintains contact with intern’s academic program; coordinates/administers evaluation of supervision of interns. Provides services in a 24 hour crisis intervention program; serves on-call periodically; responds to emergencies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
