Duties and Responsibilities 


Consults with students, family, faculty, staff, and community members about students who evidence problems that may require psychological counseling and mental health services.


Engages in counseling-related activities including, but not limited to, providing individual, couples, and group psychotherapy, providing triage walk-in coverage, maintaining counseling records, administering, interpreting psychological assessments and providing comprehensive integrative assessment reports, making referrals, and managing various administrative and organizational needs. Ability to do tele-health psychology and PSYCHPACT credential eligibility are desired.


Provides after hour and on-call crisis intervention services.


Provides presentations and outreach and prevention services for students, faculty, and staff.


Provides supervision for practicum students and doctoral psychology interns.


Performs other duties as assigned.

 Student Health and Counseling Services consists of the Counseling Center (CC) and the Student Health Center (SHC). Our comprehensive and holistic student academic success agency is committed to student learning, as well as assisting students in actualizing their maximum potential. Student Health and Counseling Services is also a professionally staffed practicum and doctoral internship training facility for graduate students in counseling, counseling psychology, clinical psychology, and social work. Services are accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services (IACS) and the doctoral internship in health service psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).  


The campus is centrally located in a residential area of Memphis with shopping, entertainment, restaurants, and recreation easily accessible. Located on the banks of the Mississippi and the largest metropolitan area in the Mid-South, Memphis is a growing city with a culturally diverse population of over 1.1 million making it the 24th largest city in the country. Compared with cities across the country in cost of living surveys, Memphis consistently ranks below the national average.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology, and one year relevant experience. Must be licensed or licensed eligible in the State of Tennessee as a Psychologist with Health Service Provider (HSP) designation.


Must pass the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) and be licensed in State of TN as a psychologist within 18 months of hire.


 
COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $70,000 - $84,000


Benefits include health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, and tuition assistance (benefits package is approximately 36% of salary).
