POSITION DESCRIPTION

Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) invites applications for an Assistant Director of Training position at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), within the Community Health and Well-Being (CHWB) unit of the Division of Student Affairs. The Assistant Director of Training position is a full-time position reporting directly to the Executive Director of CaPS.

The CMU CaPS training program has been revitalized over the last few years and is currently thriving with broad institutional, CaPS leadership and staff support. Its doctoral internship program was recently accredited by the American Psychological Association (initial accreditation date: October 10th 2023). The Assistant Director of Training is responsible for ongoing maintenance of the APA accreditation status and providing administrative oversight of all training programs at CaPS. The person in this position will also provide some direct services and collaborate with CaPS staff and other leadership team members in developing and implementing policy consistent with institutional needs and ethical professional practice.
