The Assistant Director of Outreach/Staff Psychologist manages the delivery of outreach programming to the UNCW community. The individual will be primarily responsible for providing clinical services as part of the overall Counseling Center team; this includes, but is not limited to, individual and group counseling, crisis walk in, participation in the after hours on call rotation, provision of consultation services to the campus community, and training and supervising practicum students or other trainees. Oversees the outreach programming provided to campus. Provides administrative duties as requested or assigned. This position reports to the Director of the Counseling Center and works with the Leadership Team to offer comprehensive services for students and appropriate consultation to the campus community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • An earned doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology from an APA/CPA accredited program and licensure as a psychologist with a Health Services Provider designation (or license eligible in the State of North Carolina)
  • Experience providing clinical counseling services to a college aged population as well as working with the issues and concerns exhibited in a college aged population
  • Experience in providing crisis intervention services
  • Experience in developing and providing psycho-educational programming for a college-aged population
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and writing skills

Once licensed, NC licensure must be maintained to remain eligible for employment. Individuals that do not have a professional license at the time of employment are expected to obtain appropriate clinical license within 18 months of hiring.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 3 years of experience providing counseling services within a college counseling center setting
  • Current licensure in North Carolina as a Psychologist, Health Services Provider
  • Experience with administration, clinical supervision, outreach programming, and campus consultation services
  • Professional association involvement
 
COMPENSATION

$85,000 - $94,000
