MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PhD or PsyD in Psychology or related discipline from an accredited training program (or equivalent) along with one year of an APA doctoral internship (or equivalent) is required by starting date. Eligibility for independent licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Nebraska by completing doctoral degree, sitting for the national exam (EPPP) for licensure within first year of hire, successfully passing the EPPP within 18 months of hire, and being independently licensed within two (2) years of hire. Must have ability to form effective therapeutic relationships with students. Coursework (or equivalent) and experience in provision of supervision must be clearly articulated and demonstrated as this position requires the provision of supervision to doctoral interns and being involved in the CAPS supervisory team. Experience in a multidisciplinary psychological setting. Sensitivity, knowledge and effectiveness in working with student populations, including ethnic minorities, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students, and other under-represented groups essential. Ability to consult and present educational programs related to educational, developmental, and mental health issues necessary. Considerable knowledge of personality theory, psychopathology, normal and abnormal development, techniques of psychotherapy and factors relating to individual and social psychopathology required. Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary mental health team, and with other health professionals, University faculty and staff, and the general public essential. Knowledge of and experience with psychological assessment instruments required. Must have knowledge of referral sources and indications for appropriate referral.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed Psychologist Preferred. Experience working in a comprehensive counseling center at a college or university is helpful. Exposure to stepped care and short-term models of counseling are helpful. Experience in psychological assessment preferred. Experience in creating liaison relationships with traditionally underserved student groups and developing innovative programming to these student groups preferred. Multicultural knowledge and experience is highly valued. An ability and willingness to work evening hours is desirable.
