What You'll Need:
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in counseling/human services area is required.
- One to two years of post-graduate experience, preferably in a counseling center setting, preferred.
- Have experiences in brief individual psychotherapy, couples counseling and group counseling, preferred.
- Past experience providing supervision and training of graduate students in clinical work, outreach and consultation, required.
- Past experience working with the college-aged population, including a strong knowledge of the challenges experienced by young adults, required.
- Demonstrated interest and experience in issues of diversity, social justice, and advocacy, is preferred.
- Clinical licensure to practice independently in Illinois (Licensed Clinical Psychologist, LCP) is preferred upon hire or will be required within 6 months of becoming eligible upon hire to apply for a clinical license in the State of Illinois. Completion of a predoctoral internship at an APA accredited site is required.
- Keyboard skills and facility with Microsoft Office are essential.
- Knowledge of and experience with Electronic Health Record.
- Competent in providing counseling via Telemental Video Platform.
- Strong crisis assessment and crisis management skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication and human relations skills.
- Understanding of assessment strategies and metrics in Student Affairs is necessary.
- Comfort using basic technology, including laptops, mobile devices, and relevant software applications, to document case notes, access resources, and communicate effectively with team members.
- Understanding and commitment to the University's Catholic and Vincentian values and mission.
- Provides on-call after-hours, weekend and holiday coverage 24/7 on a rotating basis with other UCAPS staff members.
- Provides some evenings and weekend counseling and support services as needed.
- Some travel to Loop Campus and/or Lincoln Park Campus is required.
- Provides clinical supervision to unlicensed clinicians as needed.
- Participates regular UCAPS Leadership Team meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.
- Provides Emergent Response Support services to students and campus partners as assigned by the Director.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $64,662.00 to $80,000.00 per year.
The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
