Full-time/12 months (2 positions)
Within a work environment characterized by collegiality and a deep commitment to professional development, the post-doctoral fellows primarily provide time-effective individual counseling, crisis intervention, risk assessment and consultation services to undergraduate and graduate students. Consultation service is also routinely provided to parents, faculty and staff.
While individual psychotherapy is the core component (currently via telehealth), SJU's CAPS is a comprehensive counseling center. As such, opportunities are available to provide group therapy, short-term structured workshops, outreach programs, webinars and guest lectures.
Formal supervision is provided by licensed staff psychologists for two hours per week. Informal supervision and collegial exchanges occur daily, in part due to a unique office suite environment that fosters “team” development. Supervising pre-doctoral trainees in a group or individual mode is a weekly position responsibility and a highly valued part of the post-doc experience.
