Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Director of  Student Health and Counseling Services. The Post Doctoral Fellow provides individual, couples, and group therapy to clients; administers and interprets psychological assessments; participates in weekly staff meetings; participates in consultation and outreach including preventive presentations, training and supervision of graduate trainees, workshops and programs. this position will have opportunities to work with athletic teams and student athletes. Provides services in a 24 hour crisis intervention program; serves on call periodically, responds to emergencies; supervises interns in an APA accredited internship; supervises practicum students. Conducts seminars for trainees as needed or assigned. This position will also involve weekend and evening duties including carrying the counseling center cell phone which is rotated among staff.

In addition to the main campus facilities, the University has research and athletic training facilities and married student housing on the Park Avenue Campus, as well as teaching sites throughout West Tennessee including the newly acquired Lambuth Campus in Jackson, TN.


Completion of an APA internship and an earned PH.D. or Psy.D. in counseling or clinical psychology.

Work in a university counseling center and work with student athletes.
