What You Will Do:
Provide individual, group and crisis counseling to students. Perform psychological assessments to assist in diagnostic differentiation and proper treatment planning for students. Select and administer the necessary batteries to appropriately evaluate students. Provide input to Counseling Services staff during case conference as well as consult on cases of more severe psychopathology and dual diagnosis with Counseling Services staff and necessary members of Student Affairs. Provide recommendations to the Director on the psychological components of complicated student issues. Supervise a graduate practicum level counselor. Develop and provide psychoeducational outreach to the campus community to promote mental health awareness and a healthier campus and surrounding community. Make recommendations to community based health professionals regarding the clinical needs of students (e.g., hospitalization, psychiatric follow-up). Develop relationships throughout SIUE to foster collaboration and collegiality.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology, license eligible in the state of Illinois. Trained knowledge of DSM-5-TR diagnosis and classifications, therapeutic orientations, and treatment modalities. Completion of accredited internship or practicum site. Ability to administer batteries of psychological assessments, with a specific focus in comprehensive psychoeducational assessment and therapeutic assessment and provide appropriate recommendations and follow-up report. Outreach/presentation skills (e.g., campus community & professional conferences) as well as psychoeducational workshops. Must possess strong crisis intervention, individual counseling, and group counseling skills. Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively as a clinical team member with quality written and oral communication skills.
