The Embedded Staff Psychologist/Social Worker/Counselor is a full-time, 12 month clinical position embedded by the Counseling Center in one of the University of Maryland's Colleges / Schools. The clinician is responsible for developing / gaining expertise about the mental health and well-being related needs of undergraduate and graduate students in the school / college that they are embedded in; providing brief assessment, intervention, and referral services to students; consulting with staff and faculty; and providing broad outreach and prevention services to the school community. In addition, the embedded clinician will also gather expertise in the mental health and well-being related needs / challenges of the school / colleges faculty and staff and provide broad consultation and guidance in this area as needed. This position reports to the Associate or Assistant Director of the Counseling Center. The position has a dotted line of reporting to the Dean (or their designee) of the School / College in which the position is embedded. This clinician will primarily work in person within the college/school. Some level of remote work may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 Licensed or license eligible applicants with either a Master’s or Ph.D/Psy.D. in a mental health-related field to apply

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to candidates who are already licensed psychologists/social workers/counselors within the state of Maryland/or can have their out-of-state licenses transferred into Maryland.
