SUMMARY: The Lead Clinical Supervisor for the California Baptist University Counseling Center (CBUCC) provides in-person individual, triadic, and group supervision for trainee and associate therapists. This position requires the application of best practices and evidence-based methods in alignment with the standards of the marriage and family therapy profession and all regulatory bodies, including the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). It also involves close collaboration with Student Services and University Administration, while consistently promoting and modeling Christ-centered, biblically-based, and psychologically sound therapy to support the vision, mission, values, and strategic goals of CBUCC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, under the direction of the Counseling Center Director and Assistant Director. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Embrace and actively demonstrate Christ-centered, biblically based, psychologically sound therapy.
  2. Maintain a clinical supervision caseload of trainee and associate counselors in individual, triadic, and group in-person supervision settings.
  3. Manage ongoing review of clinical notes of trainee and associate counselors to ensure clinician documentation is in compliance with the standards set by the BBS and the CAMFT.
  4. Review live and taped video sessions and provide written performance evaluations on all assigned supervisees within CBUCC procedures.
  5. Participate in the development of systems to ensure the psychological/spiritual needs of the CBUCC clinicians and clients are met.
  6. Collaborate with planning and implementation of mental health awareness programs and events.
  7. Assist the Director and Assistant Director in interacting with appropriate CBU personnel in supporting students who may be experiencing emotional or psychological difficulties.
  8. Supervise and assist with assessment of and/or intervention with CBUCC clients exhibiting emotional or psychological difficulties.
  9. Be available to provide supervisory assistance and follow-up for the CBUCC after-hours process.
  10. Assist the Director and Assistant Director in mental health training for staff and faculty as requested.
  11. Assist the Assistant Director in initial coordination and supervisory oversight of in-patient/out-patient services for student clients and their treating therapist.
  12. Maintain clinical compliance with BBS and CAMFT legal and ethical standards for clinical and administrative operations at CBUCC.
  13. Attend all CBUCC staff meetings, trainings, and mandatory events.
  14. Assist in serving as a liaison to all University departments as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree from a four-year college or university in Counseling or related field of study; and two years’ experience as a licensed psychotherapist.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/PERMITS: Current, unrestricted Licensure as a Psychologist, Marriage Family Therapist, and/or Professional Clinical Counselor in the State of California.

 
COMPENSATION

$82,000-88,000 (10-Month; Full-Time)
