The Psychologist & Senior Psychologist, with administrative supervision, is responsible for providing mental health counseling and outreach that is responsive to the unique backgrounds and needs of individuals, couples, and groups. Within this role, the employee will offer training seminars and provide professional expertise to campus partners as well as provide supervision and/or assist in the coordination of counseling services, programs, and the development of new programs. This role supports the mission of University Health Services by fostering the mental well-being and the holistic development of Texas A&M Students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education & Experience
Psychologist

  • Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP)
  • Successful completion of relevant practicum and doctoral internship training.

Senior Psychologist

  • Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP).
  • Five years full-time equivalent, independent licensure experience in college or university counseling center or other relevant setting.

Required Licenses and Certifications

Psychologist

  • Licensed in the State of Texas as a psychologist within one year from date of employment.

  • Once licensed, must maintain licensure for continued employment.

Senior Psychologist

  • Licensed Psychologist (LP).

  • Licensed in the State of Texas as a psychologist within one year from date of employment.

  • Must maintain licensure for continued employment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to work as a generalist who serves all students presenting concerns.
  • Clinical experience providing multiculturally informed counseling, consultation, crisis intervention, campus engagement, program coordination/development, training and supervision.
  • Ability to assess for crisis stabilization concerns and hospitalize when appropriate.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Adherence to the Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct for the Texas State Licensing Board, the American Psychological Association, and all relevant federal and state laws.
 
COMPENSATION

$82,582 - $109,916

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications, in alignment with institutional guidelines and market standards.
