POSITION DESCRIPTION

Provide client-centered services that links clients with health care, psychosocial and other services to ensure timely, coordinated access to medically appropriate levels of health and support services, continuity of care, ongoing assessment of clients and/or family members needs and personal support systems. Provide clinical services including limited counseling sessions to bridge students to outside services. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Staff, students, family members, and off campus providers. This position typically will advise and counsel: Clients. This position will supervise: N/A


Job Duty 1 - 

Provide comprehensive assessment of the client's treatment needs and personal support systems with the ability to practice independently.


Job Duty 2 - 

Coordinate client referrals to community mental health providers and coordinate students transition back to Georgia Tech from the psychiatric hospital and/or outpatient setting.


Job Duty 3 - 

Provide case management services to clients including short-term counseling bridge services, coordinate community referral services, hospitalization or hospital-based care, and transition.

Job Duty 4 - 

Provide initial consultation and appropriate referrals for the client's treatment plan. Assist in maintaining referral databases.


Job Duty 5 - 

Perform safety assessments as needed for the client. If needed, can initiate and complete a 1013 (Involuntary Hospitalization Commitment) and assist with the hospitalization process.


Job Duty 6 - 

Perform other duties as assigned

Department Information
The Center for Mental Health Care & Resources educates students for life by providing a variety of services and programs that are consistent and consonant with the strategic plan goals of the Institution and of Student Engagement & Well-Being. Services include testing and assessment, referral to support services, short-term individual counseling, group counseling, couples counseling, crisis intervention, as well as mental health workshops, and consultation for faculty and staff, family and friends of Tech students.
