Provides individual, relationship and group counseling to university students regarding problems relating to depression, anxiety, career, academics, interpersonal concerns, and other mental health issues in a short-term treatment model; provides diagnostic assessment and initial screenings; develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge; maintains treatment records in an ethical manner and maintains confidentiality of treatment records; provides crisis intervention and lethality assessments for students and provides consultation to faculty/staff around student mental health concerns; provides outreach to the campus community and serves as a liaison to campus partners; conducts and evaluates psychoeducational workshop programs; trains and supervises graduate students in psychology, social work, counselor education, or related fields; may research student needs and develop and evaluate programs; participates in professional development and continuing education activities.

About Counseling and Consultation Service

Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS is a department within the Office of Student Life with the purpose of providing counseling and mental health services to the Ohio State University campus. The mission of CCS is to promote the well-being and academic success of students through access to diverse mental health services and outreach, while providing a multidisciplinary training program. The staff includes 53 senior staff (psychologists, psychiatrists, professional counselors, and social workers, 22 trainees, and 10 administrative staff. Counseling and Consultation Service is housed in two main locations across campus, including the 4th floor of the state-of-the-art Younkin Success Center and the newly renovated 10th floor of Lincoln Tower. Both locations house a variety of offices that support students’ success at Ohio State.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master's Degree in Counselor Education, Social Work, Counseling or related field required. State of Ohio licensure in professional discipline required (Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor). Independent licensure in the State of Ohio in professional discipline within 18 months of hire. 2 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.
