Columbia University's Counseling & Psychological Services (CPS) is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and innovative clinician–leader to serve as Senior Associate Director. This pivotal role leads the Urgent Concerns clinic, drives crisis response initiatives, supervises clinical staff and postdoctoral fellows, and advances innovative approaches to supporting students in distress, crisis, or at elevated behavioral risk. The position serves on the Crisis Management Team and acts on behalf of the Director of CPS Clinical Services when needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
  • NY State license or license-eligible
  • 8+ years clinical experience, including crisis and high-risk work
  • 4+ years direct clinical supervision
  • Expertise in crisis management, risk assessment, and severe psychopathology
  • Strong communication, supervisory, and consultation skills
  • Commitment to multicultural competence and student-centered care 
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in college or university mental health
  • Consultation & Liaison, organizational consulting, or comparable experience
 
COMPENSATION
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
