ABOUT CARRUTH CENTER FOR COUNSELING AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

About Carruth Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CCCPS)

CCCPS is the coordinating site for student mental health services on the WVU campus staffed by 36+ clinicians, 6+ trainees, 3 postmasters fellows, 3 predoctoral interns and provides students with access to a wide range of multidisciplinary mental health services including group counseling, brief individual counseling, multifaceted outreach, case/care management, attention, crisis assessment and stabilization services.  Training and supervision are provided to predoctoral interns, post masters fellows, counseling psychology, counseling and social work interns and practicum students. The center's large, multidisciplinary staff includes social workers, psychologists, and licensed professional counselors. The Center shares a state-of-the-art building with the Student Health Center, WELLWVU/Health Promotions and WVU Healthy Minds University (an outpatient fee for service clinic that provides psychiatric and long term counseling).  Satellite centers are also available  in three other locations on campus.

CCCPS stands committed to affirming and celebrating multiculturalism in its broadest sense. Students of every background can expect to be able to use our services with a promise of respectful treatment that considers the context of their life experiences.

We wish to establish a work environment that reflects our society and our student body. We have a strong preference for candidates who can contribute, through their education and experience, to the diversity and excellence of the WVU community. Successful candidates will be dedicated clinicians who value working with a unique and diverse population of students.

WVU is committed to innovation and creating an extraordinary experience for our students. We are significantly expanding clinical and especially outreach services at CCCPS and are complementing those services with access to higher levels of behavioral health care by collaborating with our colleagues in the health sciences and the broader community to create a collaborative, stepped care model. We are working hard to foster partnerships across campus and are applying technology to support service delivery and outcome assessment. By actively designing and implementing strategies that will help WVU recruit, retain, and develop talented clinicians at CCCPS, we are creating a workplace of choice.
