The Towson University Counseling Center seeks to fill a Staff Psychologist position. This position will provide a range of clinical and counseling services to college students and provide expertise, programming, and training in their coordinated area. The role includes involvement with our doctoral internship and externship training programs including serving as a clinical supervisor and providing training seminars.
We are a strong, vibrant Center that values diversity, and we seek to provide a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment for all. We have an established and thriving doctoral training program in which all staff are involved. We seek a psychologist who, in addition to having strong clinical skills and interest in providing training and a range of clinical services, will provide an innovative vision and administrative leadership in a coordinated area of expertise. Applicants with strong cultural competence, expertise and experience working in a university counseling center setting will be given extra consideration.
Clinical Approach: Our center utilizes a flexible care/same-day model designed to provide timely access to mental health services for students. Clinicians provide a blend of brief interventions, same-day consultations, crisis support, and ongoing care as clinically appropriate, requiring flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and comfort working in a fast-paced college counseling environment that differs from traditional outpatient psychotherapy settings. Interested applicants can view more information on this model at https://www.towson.edu/counseling/services. Our clinical approach is deeply student-centered and embedded within the university community. In addition to providing direct clinical services, clinicians actively engage with campus partners, participate in outreach and prevention efforts, and contribute to creating a culture of wellbeing that supports students' academic success, personal growth, and sense of belonging.
