Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who will be an integral members of the CAPS team and have demonstrated expertise in working with a variety of identities, diagnoses, and presenting problems relevant to the college population, the ability to conceptualize client concerns and deliver services that attend to contextual factors, are committed to fostering a professional culture of self-reflection, and engages all individuals to help them thrive.

Our multidisciplinary staff includes counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and social workers who deliver services that maintain the highest standards of professional and ethical care.

Primary Responsibilities include: 

  • providing therapeutic services to enrolled students (i.e., conducting initial assessments and determination of treatment needs; conducting individual, couples, and group psychotherapy; conducting crisis counseling)
  • Working with students to provide referrals to external agencies
  • Provide outreach services to the university community and develop liaison relationships across the University with a goal of primary prevention and psychoeducation on mental health concerns.
  • Provide clinical supervision to Master's trainees
  • Completing administrative tasks, providing outreach to the university community, engaging within the University and Division of Student Affairs, and providing clinical supervision to trainees. Serves as essential personnel and provides assistance in the event of a campus emergency

Clients present to CAPS with a wide variety of mental health concerns, backgrounds, and lived experiences. Therefore, we are seeking an LCSW with experience treating anxiety, depression, suicidality, self-harm, trauma, mania/hypomania, psychosis, substance use issues, adjustment concerns, relationship difficulties, disordered eating, and other common issues facing undergraduate and graduate students. Successful candidates will be skilled in providing treatment across gender, culture, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disabilities, religion, socio-economic status, etc.

The FAU CAPS is accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services and the doctoral internship program in health service psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Social Work from an accredited program.
  • Valid license to practice in the state of Florida under Florida Statute 491 or license eligible within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to handle complex crises and/or clinical situations
  • Demonstrate awareness and value of culturally-responsive mental health practice.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the highest ethical standards of professional practice.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • University counseling center experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish, French, Creole, Portuguese)
 
COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $78,000-$86,000 per year. Salary will depend on experience and licensure status.
