The Assistant Director/Coordinator of Community Wellness provides a range of culturally informed counseling, outreach, and training services. The successful candidate will have a commitment to liberal arts education; a demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with the developmental concerns of traditional-age college students; demonstrated experience and skill in multicultural counseling, supervision and outreach with diverse populations; strong clinical supervision skills; and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, campus departments, and student groups. Strong crisis intervention and risk management skills, communication and interpersonal skills, energy, flexibility, and enthusiasm are required for this position.
Job Responsibilities:
Provides culturally informed individual, group, and couples counseling to Lake Forest College diverse students.
Oversees the wellness and prevention education of our community members through planning and implementing workshops, seminars, and other structured psychoeducational and outreach programs designed to enhance personal development.
Oversees hiring and supervision of Wellness Peer Educators (in collaboration with the Department Assistant for the Health and Wellness Center)
Responds to crisis situations during the day and participates in our after-hours on-call rotation.
Provides culturally competent supervision and training to doctoral interns and practicum trainees.
Participates in peer review, case conference, and supervisory and staff meetings.
Collaborate with other offices in Student Affairs and serve on college committees or task forces as appropriate.
Consults with faculty, staff, and university offices on personal development issues affecting students’ success.
Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.

Doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology. Must be currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Clinical Psychologist in the state of Illinois within 6 months of hire.
Skill Sets:
Experience in a college counseling center in areas such as clinical assessment, therapy, crisis management, and consultation.
Experience in providing mental health services to under-served client populations (i.e., ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, nationality, religious/spiritual background, varying ability levels, etc.).
Experience in managing crisis situations during the day and after-hours.
Experience in providing culturally competent supervision of trainees.
Demonstrated interest, expertise, and experience in the area of outreach and prevention
Must be knowledgeable about research and models related to the delivery of wellness programs.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver presentations to a wide range of audiences
Strong organizational skills and exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively consult with stakeholders within and outside the college.
Possess solid managerial skills and understand the necessary qualities and skills needed for hiring, as well as the ability to effectively supervise.
Be able to effectively manage projects.
Solid understanding of ethics.
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Ability to effectively manage time constraints and deadlines
